Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully. They apply to all bookings for the From Pen to Paper: Italy 2027 Writing Retreat. Any exception or change to these Terms must be agreed to in writing by an authorized representative of Scriptor Publishing Group.

Participant and Guest Registration: Retreat pricing is based on whether you register as a Participant or as a Guest. Participants attend the writing workshops and all other retreat activities. Guests do not attend the writing workshops but are invited to participate in the rest of the retreat, including scheduled excursions, meals, transportation, and other group activities included in the itinerary.Participant and Guest prices are set per person. Sharing a room does not change or reduce either registration price.
Prices: The price for the From Pen to Paper: Italy 2027 Writing Retreat is the amount shown on the retreat registration page at the time of booking. Your confirmed retreat price will not change after your reservation and required deposit have been received. Retreat pricing includes only the accommodations, activities, meals, and services specifically listed as included in the retreat package.
Deposit & Payment Schedule: A non-refundable $1,000 deposit is required to reserve your place for the From Pen to Paper: Italy 2027 Writing Retreat. The deposit will be applied toward the total cost of the retreat. The remaining balance will be divided into two additional payments due on the dates specified in your payment schedule.
If a scheduled payment is not received by its due date, you will have 10 calendar days to bring your account current. If payment has not been received within that 10-day period, Scriptor Publishing Group reserves the right to cancel your reservation. Any amounts already paid will be handled according to the Cancellation and Refund Policy.
Cancellation and Refund Policy: All payments for the From Pen to Paper: Italy 2027 Writing Retreat are non-refundable. When you reserve your place, Scriptor Publishing Group commits to accommodations, activities, transportation, and other retreat expenses on your behalf, and your place is held for you.
This policy applies regardless of the reason for cancellation, including illness, travel disruptions, or other personal circumstances.
Bookings: Scriptor Publishing Group reserves the right to decline or cancel a booking when we believe it is necessary to protect the retreat experience, the safety of participants, or the interests of the group. If a booking is declined before the retreat begins, any payments received will be refunded.
Travel Arrangements: You are responsible for arranging and paying for your airfare to and from Italy, as well as any personal travel before or after the retreat.
On the first day of the retreat, Scriptor Publishing Group will provide group transportation from the designated Rome airport to the retreat location at a scheduled time. Please arrange your flight to arrive before 1:00 PM Italy time so you can join the scheduled group transportation. If you arrive after the scheduled pickup time or miss the group transportation because of a flight delay or other circumstance, you will be responsible for arranging and paying for your transportation to the retreat location.
On the final day of the retreat, Scriptor Publishing Group will provide group transportation back to the designated Rome airport at a scheduled time. Please arrange your departing flight for after 2:00 PM Italy time to allow enough time for the scheduled transfer and airport check-in. If you choose a flight that requires transportation outside the scheduled group transfer, you will be responsible for arranging and paying for that transportation.
Transportation for all tours and activities included in the official retreat itinerary is included in your retreat package. Transportation for personal excursions, activities, or sightseeing outside the scheduled retreat itinerary is your responsibility.
Travel Insurance: Travel insurance is strongly recommended for all participants. Travel plans can change because of illness, flight cancellations, delays, or other unexpected circumstances. You are responsible for any expenses or losses you incur as a result of these circumstances. We recommend purchasing travel insurance that provides the coverage you feel is appropriate for your trip. Because retreat payments are non-refundable, travel insurance may help protect some of your trip costs if you are unable to attend.
Passports & Entry Requirements: You are responsible for making sure you have a valid passport and meet all entry requirements for travel to Italy. Because travel requirements can change, please check current requirements with official government sources before booking your travel and again before departure.
Health: You are responsible for making sure you are medically able to participate in the retreat and for meeting any health requirements for travel to Italy. If you become ill during the retreat, please let a member of the Scriptor Publishing Group team know as soon as possible. You will be responsible for any medical care or related expenses you may need during the trip.
Physical Activity: Some retreat activities may include walking, stairs, or uneven surfaces. We encourage you to choose the activities that feel comfortable for you. If you decide to sit out a scheduled activity, you’re welcome to enjoy that time on your own, and any alternate transportation or activities would be at your own expense.
Accessibility and Special Needs: If you have accessibility needs or other accommodations that may affect your participation in the retreat, please let Scriptor Publishing Group know before booking so we can determine what arrangements may be possible.
Dietary Needs and Food Allergies: We will ask about dietary needs and food allergies before the retreat and will share that information with the appropriate meal providers. We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate your needs, but we cannot guarantee that every dietary request can be met or that meals will be completely free from allergens.
Age Requirement: All Participants and Guests must be 18 years of age or older at the start of the retreat.
Emergency Contact Information: Before the retreat, we will ask you to provide the name and contact information for someone we can reach in case of an emergency. This information will only be used if needed for your health or safety during the retreat.
Missed Activities and Early Departure: Your retreat price covers the full experience reserved for you. If you choose to miss a scheduled meal, excursion, workshop, or other included activity, or if you leave the retreat early, no partial refunds or credits will be provided.
Changes to the Retreat: Occasionally, circumstances outside our control may require us to change part of the retreat itinerary, including scheduled activities, transportation, accommodations, or tours. If that happens, Scriptor Publishing Group will make reasonable efforts to provide a similar experience whenever possible. If the entire retreat must be cancelled before it begins because of circumstances outside our control, Scriptor Publishing Group will offer a credit toward a future retreat. The credit must be used within two years of the original retreat start date.
Participant Conduct: Scriptor Publishing Group may ask a participant to leave the retreat if their behavior creates a safety concern or seriously interferes with the experience of other participants. In that situation, the participant will be responsible for any additional travel or other expenses related to leaving the retreat.
Photography and Video: Photos and video may be taken during the retreat. Scriptor Publishing Group may use photographs or video from the retreat for its website, social media, email marketing, and future retreat promotions. If you do not want your image used for promotional purposes, please let a member of the Scriptor Publishing Group team know before the retreat begins.
Privacy: Scriptor Publishing Group will use the personal information you provide to manage your retreat registration and provide the services included in your trip. When needed, we may share relevant information with the hotel, transportation providers, tour operators, or other companies helping us provide the retreat experience. We will only share the information needed for those services. Scriptor Publishing Group does not sell your personal information.
Liability: Scriptor Publishing Group works with hotels, transportation companies, tour guides, and other independent providers as part of the retreat experience. While we carefully select these providers, Scriptor Publishing Group is not responsible for their acts or omissions or for circumstances outside our reasonable control, including travel delays, weather, illness, government actions, or other unexpected events.
You are responsible for your own personal belongings and for any personal expenses, losses, injuries, or additional travel costs that are not caused by Scriptor Publishing Group.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit any rights or protections that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
Agreement to Terms: By completing your registration and submitting payment for the From Pen to Paper: Italy 2027 Writing Retreat, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
